The Unexpected Adventure

Today was a pretty chill day at the beginning. Blue skies over Arenal and La Fortuna. Me and Mom had planned on going back to the La Fortuna Waterfall, but I decided against it as we were planning on doing things in the afternoon anyway, especially packing for our trip to Monteverde the next day.

However, around 11:45, we received a telephone call from the front desk at The Springs asking why we hadn't checked out yet, to which Mom was quite confused and shocked by. It turns out that our trip to Monteverde was today, and we had to be out of our room within 30 minutes. So we quickly had everything packed and we went on our way (after a quick stop in the hotel gift shop).

We stopped in to the Zukia Gallery in La Fortuna and bought some gorgeous paintings by local artists. We learned that the owner's brother lives in our state as well! After, we hit the MegaSuper and hit the road to Monteverde.

Along the way, we stopped at a German Bakery, which Mom had tried to drive to before ziplining the day prior. We were lucky we stopped in, as the food was absolutely spectacular!

The road to our hotel was very bumpy and winding, and all of us were quite happy to be out of the car when we got to the hotel after our 3 hour drive. The hotel we're staying at is a bungalow type hotel with an adjacent wildlife reservation attached. The town of Monteverde is quite large in fact, sporting its own MegaSuper!

We had some amazing tacos and burritos at the Cantina Spectacolar, and went back to the room to rest for the day ahead!
